Why Quartzite Countertops
Due to the porous nature of Quartzite, your countertops MUST be sealed, ideally once a year. At Upstate Granite & Marble, we offer a 8-year and a Lifetime sealer option by Morecare, so you don’t have to worry as much over the years. Quartzite is the most durable stone we offer in comparison to Granite and Marble, which is why it’s commonly used for countertops. The stone does not etch and stands up against acidity, unlike Marble.
Quartzite is a durable natural stone that can be very porous which requires sealing. It’s a hard stone that does resist scratches and chips. Like granite, Quartzite won’t burn and has the appearance of marble giving each slab its own unique properties.
